Miami Children’s Deploying Patient Education Solution

(8/8/2008)

Miami Children’s Hospital is implementing the PatientLife System from Bethesda, Md.-based GetWellNetwork, Inc. to help educate pediatric patients and their families, says the company.

The solution will feature condition-specific pediatric video education content specifically designed for parents, kids and teens focusing on the treatment and management, prevention measures, and lifestyle impact of conditions. According to the company, patients can use a wireless keyboard, touch screen or handheld device to interact with the system from the patient’s bed.

Miami Children’s is South Florida’s only licensed specialty hospital exclusively for children, with more than 600 attending physicians and over 130 pediatric sub-specialists. The 289-bed hospital is also home to the largest pediatric teaching program in the southeastern United States.
