Maine's Statewide HIE, HealthInfoNet continues to blaze a trail for the industry and add depth to the growing information exchange.

This is the last in a series of podcasts devoted to highlighting our Innovator award winners from this year that were presented at the HIMSS Conference in Orlando in February. The Healthcare Informatics Innovator Awards Program recognizes leadership teams from patient care organizations—hospitals, medical groups, and health systems—that have effectively deployed information technology in order to improve clinical, administrative, financial, or organizational performance.

Please check out our previous Innovator Award Series Podcasts:

Transformative Healthcare
: Managing Editor John DeGaspari talks with James L. Holly, M.D. from Southeast Texas Medical Association about his organization's Statistical Analysis project.

Ensuring Care Quality Through Dashboard Use: Associate Editor Jennifer Prestigiacomo talks with CMIO George Reynolds, M.D from Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. about the organization’s Clinical Analytics and Business Intelligence

HealthInfoNet, Maine's statewide HIE, was the first HIE to be recognized as an Innovator Award winner for its impressive breadth and depth. When we honored HealthInfoNet, it connected 15 hospitals and one primary care organization, representing approximately 50 percent of all clinical care activity in Maine. Over the past year, it has since grown to 31 hospitals under contract and more than one million health records in the exchange. In this podcast, we're speaking with Dev Culver, executive director of HealthInfoNet as well as Amy Landry, chief communications director at HealthInfoNet, about the progress the HIE has made over the past year as well as HealthInfoNet's Patient Portal.
