Four things to be Thankful for this "Healthcare IT Thanksgiving"

Maybe I am just a "glass half full" person. Maybe I am just tired of all the bad business news on CNN. Either way, I thought I would put together a list of things we can be thankful for this (Healthcare IT) Thanksgiving season. Please feel free to add to the list:

  • We are not in the middle of implementing ICD-10
  • Starke IV: "The Sequel-New and Improved," has not been published
  • You are not spending the Thanksgiving weekend re-writing all your HL7 interfaces to a new standard
  • There is still so much healthcare technology being developed and implemented that makes this industry more exciting than ever!

government wants to throw money at healthcare IT. The question is how much.

Enough to provide incentives for all major centers to adopt an Ambulatory EMR.
