The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has doled out a five-year, $28.8 million contract to AMC Health for telehealth software and services, the government agency and vendor jointly announced.

Teladoc, the Dallas-based telehealth provider, has announced the acquisition of Consult A Doctor, a Miami Beach, Fla.-based telehealth company. With this acquisition, individuals and employees of small- to medium-size businesses will now have access to Teladoc’s national network of U.S. board-certified, state-licensed physicians for consults.
