He has spent over two decades in healthcare publishing, and in the course of his healthcare publishing career, has won numerous national and regional journalism awards, and is the author of two books on healthcare quality and efficiency, and is a sought-after speaker. His blogs span a broad range of topics, from healthcare policy and healthcare reform to quality improvement, clinical information systems and imaging systems topics, to vendor and industry topics.

Ronnie Brownsworth, M.D.

CEO of the Piedmont Clinic

Executive Vice President of Piedmont Healthcare and CEO of the Piedmont Clinic, Ronnie Brownsworth, M.D. joined Piedmont Healthcare in 2008.  He oversees activities of the 740-member Piedmont Clinic, including the Piedmont Medical Care Corporation, with 240 employed physicians in over 30 offices across metro Atlanta. The clinic manages payer negotiations and contracts for the physicians, and its membership comes together to enhance and monitor the quality of physician-provided care across the Piedmont system.  Current efforts are focused on clinically integrating Clinic members and finding new ways to bring value to physicians being associated with the Piedmont health system.

Previously, Dr. Brownsworth served as division operating officer for St. John’s Health System in Springfield, Missouri, for fourteen years. He also practiced as a neurologist for twelve years in the Springfield area. Dr. Brownsworth earned his medical degree at the University of Oklahoma Medical School and his master’s in business administration from Missouri State University.

Mark Golberg is General Manager of Provider/Payer/ACO Market Sector of Recombinant By Deloitte. He has an extensive background in health care management consulting, general business operations, operations design and restructuring, and startup development and venture finance. Mark is engaged in a variety of data governance, strategy, and organizational leadership projects, particularly focusing on personalized medicine, data warehousing for lean six sigma, and ACO tool development.

Mark's healthcare operating experience includes roles as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of a $100M physician practice management company, and COO/turnaround leader of a venture-backed, medical, temporary staffing company. He has also served as the President or Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of one medical device and two biotech startup companies.

He received both his BA – Medical Anthropology and MBA from the University of Chicago.
