Quality Data For Performance Measurement: Strategic Considerations
Healthcare providers face intensifying scrutiny from external sources such as insurance companies, regulatory agencies, lawmakers, and a more well-informed public. As competing on value increases, the pressure to earn top rankings from evaluating agencies will grow and in turn the need for an efficient and effective performance measurement infrastructure.
Performance reporting is becoming an increasing burden on operations as the need to conduct patient chart abstraction increases, but remains inadequate to participate in multiple internal and external measurement programs. This presentation will examine the obstacles hampering efficient generation and delivery of performance measurement data, as well as recommendations for possible solutions.
