Another year, another version of the Healthcare Informatics 100, the comprehensive list of the top 100 U.S. revenue-earning companies in the healthcare IT industry. HCI Associate Editor Gabriel Perna has compiled an infographic that has an in-depth look at some of interesting facets of the list.
Once again, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts seems to be the hub of Health IT. However, two cities (Franklin, Tenn. and Alpharetta, Ga.) are hubs of their own, each with four companies in the HCI 100 headquartered there. 1979 was not only the height of disco, but it was also the year that most of the companies on the list were founded. And the list’s number one, McKesson, also had the highest number of acquisitions with five.
