David Riley, CONNECT initiative lead contractor and Owner of Enaptics Consulting

The CONNECT open source project, which began in 2007 as a Federal Health Architecture initiative (under the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology), has sought to build a health information exchange foundation using nationally-recognized interoperability standards. Currently, more than 30 governmental and private sector organizations are in the process of or are using the CONNECT platform to share data. Last month, the project released CONNECT 3.1, so David Riley the CONNECT initiative lead contractor and Owner of Enaptics Consulting spoke with HCI Associate Editor about what added functionality was in the release and what has to happen for more organizations to become CONNECT-ed.
