Omaha, Neb.-based Avantas has introduced Smart Square, a patent-pending suite of tools designed to fully automate the nursing scheduling process.

The Web-hosted solution utilizes the Avantas Predictive Model to identify the amount of staff needed, then automatically recruits and deploys staff where they can most effectively be placed, according to the company. Smart Square also integrates with i-Choice, a patent-pending, self-scheduling tool that enables nurses to view available shifts weeks in advance.
