Drummond Group Inc., an interoperability test lab based in Fort Worth, Texas, is submitting to become a certifying body upon the release of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology requirements for certifying bodies for EHRs.

Currently, the only approved EHR certification agency is the private non-profit CCHIT organization.

Drummond Group, which has done testing for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Drug Enforcement Administration, among other organizations, says it has been approached by numerous EHR software and services companies that need to be certified.
