Three facilities — Cook Children’s Health Care System (Fort Worth, Texas), University of Florida Health Science Center Jacksonville (Fla.) and The University of Mississippi Medical Center (Jackson, Miss.) — have successfully implemented RadWhere, a radiology speech recognition solution from Burlington, Mass.-based Nuance Communications, Inc.

The RadWhere application uses structured speech recognition technology designed specifically for radiology to work within the PACS and radiology information system environments and reduce or eliminate the need for transcription, touts the company. With the tool, radiologists can complete reports in real-time with free text speech recognition, standard site templates, and individual radiologist templates.
