Cornell University’s Gannett Health Services of Ithaca, N.Y., has implemented Carestream Health Inc.’s (Rochester, N.Y.) Kodak Directview DR 3500 digital imaging and information solution.

With its new product, Gannett hopes to reduce turnaround time and enable quicker diagnosis and treatment. The radiological system will capture images in fewer than 10 seconds and will work with X-ray and RIS/PACS, according to the company.

With the DR 3500, Gannett Health was able to eliminate one X-ray room and add another dressing room to enhance patient flow. In addition, the facility has eliminated a darkroom, film processor and chemicals, which was used for hard copy film storage, it touts.
