According to a blog earlier this week from Google, it will discontinue its Health service effective Jan. 1, 2012.

After this date, customers will no longer be able to view, enter, or edit data stored in Google Health. However, users can download their stored data in Google Health through Jan. 1, 2013.

According to Google, its personal health record service “didn't scale as we had hoped.” The blog said Google found traction with segments like tech-savvy patients and their caregivers, as well as fitness and wellness enthusiasts, but couldn’t translate this into widespread adoption.
