Grant Regional Health Center, a healthcare provider based in Lancaster, Wis., has installed Omnicell's medication use systems in an effort to improve patient safety throughout the facility.

According to Omnicell (Mountain View, Calif.), Grant Regional has installed OmniRx medication distribution systems and an OmniDispenser single-dose dispensing module on nursing floors. In addition, Omnicell stated that its anesthesia workstations are designed to provide the center's operating room with a system for the management of anesthesia supplies and medications.

The computerized Omnicell medication distribution systems located throughout the hospital are password-protected and locked, have lights to guide nurses to the right medication and contain a profile of drugs approved by the hospital for each patient, says the company.
