Seattle-based Group Health, a nonprofit healthcare system that provides both medical coverage and care to more than a half million members in Washington and Idaho, has completed rolling out Progeny Anatomic Pathology (AP) information system from PathView Systems Ltd. (Anna, Texas), an InterSystems application partner.

According to InterSystems (Cambridge, Mass.), a provider of database and integration software, the Progeny AP system is built on the company's CACHÉ object database.

PathView, a provider of information solutions in anatomic and clinical pathology, contends Progeny AP uses barcode technology that allows hands-free use of its application. Pathologists can scan a slide which immediately shows a patient's history, and case dictation can proceed without any further interaction with the keyboard and mouse, says the company.
