Memphis, Tenn.-based Methodist South Hospital says it is the first hospital in Tennessee to use wireless telemetry from Drager Medical (Germany) to monitor cardiology patients at the bedside.

The hospital says the Drager InfinityM300 patient-worn monitor has built-in display and alarming, resulting in less delay in responding to a patient event, and more comfort for patients.

According to the hospital, plans are under way to use the new device at other hospitals in the Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare system by the end of the year.
