Providence Portland Medical Center (PPMC, Portland, Ore.) has implemented the Mission Viejo, Calif.-based Amelior ORTracker in its perioperative department.

The automatic tracking system utilizes an ultrasound indoor positioning system within the perioperative department to capture the real-time location of personnel and equipment. According to the company, it is designed to help improve the efficiency of surgical care by visualizing the status of patients and the location of department resources utilizing workflow automation technologies.
