SIIM Publishes Practical Imaging Informatics Book

The Leesburg, Va.-based Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) released its new textbook on PACS and imaging informatics. Entitled, Practical Imaging Informatics: Foundations and Applications for PACS Professionals, the book is written by SIIM practitioners in imaging informatics and is edited by Barton Branstetter IV, M.D.

Published by SIIM in conjunction with Springer, the book includes suggested resources, personal experiences, key concepts, and a glossary of imaging informatics terms, according to SIIM. In addition, it contains step-by-step outlines and checklists. SIIM says each of the book’s 26 chapters includes summary points and self-assessment questions to help readers test their knowledge and prepare for certification. The 455-page book is $89.95 ($59.95 for SIIM members) and may be ordered online.
