Socket Rolls out SoMo 650

Socket Communications Inc. (Newark, Calif.), a provider of mobile productivity solutions, has launched its SoMo 650 handheld mobile computer.

According to Socket Communications, the SoMo 650 features the following:

  • PDA-like form-factor
  • A three-to-five year life cycle
  • Windows Mobile 5.0 Professional operating system
  • Business-class Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a 624 MHz processor, a QVGA display, program and storage memory for running multiple applications, and a high-capacity battery
  • Pre-integration with a range of peripherals and information systems, such as scanning, RFID, communications and interface devices

The SoMo 650 has been trialed by nurses at St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh.
