Two facilities based in Kokomo, Ind. — Howard Regional Health System and St. Joseph Hospital — have implemented DOCS4DOCS, a Web-based service from the Indiana Health Information Exchange that delivers clinical reports and treatment information in real-time to outpatient centers and ambulatory practices.

According to the IHIE, 39 hospitals in Indiana are currently using the service to send approximately 2.8 million messages each month to more than 10,000 Indiana physicians. More than 50 million messages have been sent since its inception.

Howard Regional Health System is an independent, two-hospital system with outpatient locations in Peru, Tipton, Frankfort, and Greentown. St. Joseph Hospital is part of St. Vincent Health System, an 18-ministry system serving 45 Indiana counties.
