Unibased Systems Architecture, Inc.

(USA, Chesterfield, Mo.) and

Provider Advantage NW Inc.

(Beaverton, Ore.) are collaborating on applications designed to help healthcare providers validate patient demographics.

Using a combination of software applications from the two companies, USA clients will be able to validate patient demographics, select the most appropriate time and location for services, determine patients’ current insurance eligibility, assure medical necessity compliance, and estimate out-of-pocket expenses based on scheduled and ordered services, say the companies.

USA and Provider Advantage hope the process will allow providers to anticipate the costs associated with uninsured and charitable cases earlier in the revenue cycle, and provide the opportunity to arrange a reasonable patient payment plan prior to service when appropriate, they say.
