Mark Hagland has spent more than twenty years in healthcare publishing and has won numerous national journalism awards. He was a Contributing Editor to the publication for more than a decade, the author of two books on healthcare quality and efficiency, and a sought-after speaker. Mark received his B.A. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his master's in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.

John DeGaspari is a journalist with more than 20 years of experience reporting and writing about business and technology for print and digital publications. He has substantial experience reporting on health topics, including biomedical engineering, telemedicine and medical devices. He is especially interested in exploring how hospitals are meeting the challenges of meaningful use requirements, as well as privacy and data security issues that are emerging as new health information exchanges take shape.

When he’s not writing, he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, friends and family, watching sports and going hiking.
