The editorial team at Healthcare Informatics is delighted to announce the results of the judging process in the magazine’s 2012 Innovator Awards Program. We were pleased to have received several dozen excellent submissions to the program, which for the fourth year in a row is honoring multidisciplinary teams of healthcare professionals—groups of leaders who have committed to leveraging healthcare IT to improve important aspects of healthcare—whether around patient safety, care quality, the patient experience, financial effectiveness, operational efficiency, or along some other important dimension.
What’s more, this year, Healthcare Informatics is pleased to recognize four finalist teams representing four different types of organizations—one hospital, one multispecialty medical group, one health information exchange (HIE), and, for the first time, one public health department.
In addition to these four exceptional finalist teams, we are very pleased to recognize 15 semi-finalist teams that have demonstrated commendable achievements across broad areas of endeavor. We plan to interview the leaders of all of those teams at various points throughout the year.
As for the four winning teams, we at HCI have produced profiles of all of those teams, which will appear in the upcoming February issue, and online on this website in the coming days. The four winning teams will also be honored at our Innovator Awards reception, to be held on Tuesday, February 21 at Yellowtail in the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, from 6 P.M. to 10 P.M. The semi-finalist teams will also be recognized at that event. Make sure to RSVP to our invitation on this website.
For now, we are proud to announce the teams of these distinguished teams. Below are the names of the four finalist organizations, followed by those of the nine semi-finalist organizations. Congratulations to all!
