Allegheny Health Deploys Clinical System

West Penn Allegheny Health System (WPAHS), Pittsburgh, has activated Eclipsys' Sunrise Clinical Manager, an electronic medical record (EMR) solution, at the 665-bed Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) and the 59-bed AGH Suburban Campus, Bellevue, Pa.

According to Atlanta-based Eclipsys, the facilities have also activated Sunrise Pharmacy and Sunrise Emergency Care to help enhance patient safety through a closed-loop medication management process and patient handoffs between facilities, departments and caregivers.

Physiotherapy Associates Licenses Lawson

Physiotherapy Associates (Memphis, Tenn.), a provider of musculoskeletal outpatient rehabilitation services, has licensed Lawson's S3 Human Capital Management and S3 Enterprise Financial Management suites in an effort to standardize accounting processes and improve access to financial and human resources data.

According to Lawson (St. Paul, Minn.), its system will provide a single user interface, which will enable physiotherapy employees to access and share data across departments. In addition, the "Lawson Drill Around" feature will enable users to conduct data analysis via access to supporting transactional information, says the software and services company.

Lawson also contends its Human Capital Management suite will enable the organization to automate its benefits enrollment process and employee lifecycle activities, such as transfers, promotions and terminations.

Partners Shores Up Financials

Partners Healthcare, a Boston-based integrated health system, has selected Siemens Medical Solutions' Soarian Financials, a patient administration and revenue cycle management (RCM) system, to implement across its healthcare system.

According to Siemens, Soarian Financials is designed to streamline RCM by embedding a contract engine and an enterprise-wide master patient index (EMPI) into a revenue cycle solution.

Partners will install the full suite of financial applications, which includes Soarian Scheduling; Decision Support Solutions; Enterprise Document Management; Soarian Community Access; and Healthcare Data Exchange (HDX) — Siemens' payer connectivity service — says the Malvern, Pa.-based company.
