The state of Ohio has signed a $100.8 million, 73 month contract with EDS (Columbus, Ohio) to design, develop and implement a Medicaid Information Technology System (MITS).

According to EDS, a provider of Medicaid and Medicare process management services, its Ohio interChange system will provide IT services to Ohio's Medicaid providers and recipients.

The company contends the Web-based system is designed to provide Ohio with claims processing for healthcare providers and data about healthcare trends and the medical needs of Ohio's Medicaid population.
