United Physicians of Charleston, South Carolina’s largest independent physician association, has selected Fort Lee, N.J.-based MaxMD to provide encrypted communications and other Web-based services for its clinical integration initiative.

Through the implementation, the association hopes to achieve improved outcomes and reduced costs, according to the company. MaxMD is working in concert with eCast and MyCatalyst to provide technology and consulting for the clinical integration program.

United Physicians claims it is among the largest in the country to implement a clinical integration program.
