St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia has launched a 24/7 telepediatric service that is designed to help pediatric patients and strengthen local hospitals.

St. Christopher's has tapped the Reston, Va.-based Specialists On Call, a provider of physician consultations via telemedicine, to provide 24/7 emergency and specialty pediatric consultations as well as neonatal care via telemedicine to hospitals throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

The telepediatric service will provide participating hospitals with on-demand access to St. Christopher's team of pediatric specialists and subspecialists, and help local providers with consultations in their emergency department, pediatric unit, or NICU any time of day or night.
